Description

Murtex Silicate is a full-matt facade paint primarily intended for painting on plaster. It can also be used on concrete fiber cement boards and facade bricks as well as old silicate-painted surfaces. Murtex Silicate allows the facade to breathe. The substrate must be solid and clean of dirt, grease and similar contaminants. Poorly bonded or chalky surfaces must be brushed carefully to a solid substrate. Cracks must be scraped up and repaired with a suitable material. New painting: When repainting, highly absorbent surfaces, e.g. old lime-painted surfaces, must be pretreated with Murtex Silicate Primer diluted with water 1:1. Well-bonded surfaces do not need to be pretreated. Prime with Murtex Silicate mixed with Murtex Silicate Primer 2:1. Finish coat 1-2 times with Murtex Silicate. Repainting: Scrape off old loose paint to a solid surface. For best results, highly absorbent surfaces, e.g. old lime-painted surfaces, should be pre-treated with Murtex Silicate Primer diluted with water 1:1. Finish coat 1-2 times with Murtex Silicate, possibly diluted with max. 10% water. When applying, cross-rolling gives the best color uniformity. Warning! Silicate has an etch effect on glass, ceramics, tiles, natural stone and metal. Protect surrounding surfaces from splashes, and always wear safety glasses and gloves. Never paint below +10°C or at high relative humidity (over 80%).
