In order for your pine floors to last longer, it is important to treat them properly. An effective way to do this is to use soap.

  1. Start by vacuuming your pine floor to remove any dirt or debris.
  2. Mix a solution of 2 - 3 dl of liquid soap to 10 liters of cold water.
  3. Dip a soft mop or cloth in the soapy solution, wring it out, then use it to clean your pine floors. Be sure to work in small sections and avoid using too much water, as this can damage the wood. Sand in the lengthwise direction of the wood, a few boards at a time. On stains and badly affected areas, you can put extra soap on the brush.
  4. After cleaning, rinse your mop or cloth thoroughly and then use it to remove excess soap or water from your floors.
  5. Allow your pine floors to dry completely before walking on them or replacing furniture.
